Description:
This is a difficult variation of a Sharps to find, only 320 of the Shotgun 1853 model variation was ever manufactured by Sharps. Approximately 281 were manufactured with a 26 gauge barrel. This example would be very difficult to improve upon. Strong traces of the color case hardened finish remain on the frame. The barrel shows most of the original brown remaining as well. The bore is mint and appears virtually unfired. The wood is very good, however the toe of the buttstock is missing a slight bit. Although that, this is a much finer example then one could hope and expect to find. Mechanically excellent. Overall this Gun was maintained extremely well through its lifetime.
