Description:
This 41 Rim Fire Derringer was produced around 1869 to 1870. The pistol's serial number is 2862. It has the standard 3 inch barrels. The pistol's serial number match the frame and barrel. This derringer is a second model second variant pistol. The original factory engraving is clear. The engraved surface is about 50% of the pistol's surface. The original bluing has worn to a patina finish. The action works great with no issues. The original rosewood grips are correct for this pistol. Inside the grips is the name - E. Harvey. This pistol has seen much honest use and wear. I found this pistol here in Arizona in a cigar box. The hinges are intact and the barrels are snug to the frame. This pistol can still be used and shot. However, it is time to retire this Remington due to it's age and rarity! Finding factory engraved Remington pistols is a real find for collectors. This one shows alot of history and use. This little pistol has much going for it, it was blued, most were plated, it is engraved and it is a very early production pistol. Search for hlvfineguns on google for more details.
