Description:
This is a very handsome, all-original, scarce, and all-matching 1954 Russian Military SKS rifle made by the Izhevsk Arsenal.  Izhevsk only made the SKS rifle for two years for the Russian Military in 1953 and 1954, and are very scarce compared to the numerous Tula-made examples made from 1949 until the late 1950's.  This particular example is an import-marked gun that is all factory stamped-matching (no electro-penciled numbers or lined-out serials) and has been thru one Russian Arsenal refurb.  This SKS is in excellent condition inside and out, and as you can see from the pictures, is very handsome.  The Russian Arsenal applied "Stove Black" finish is in excellent condition and shows only some very minor handling/storage marks.  All of the factory markings are still clean and visible, and all of the serial numbers are factory stamped, crisp, clean, and matching.  The bore is factory chrome-lined and as such, is mirror-bright and pristine.  The rifling is still sharp and clean and there are no visible imperfections or erosion.  The folding blade bayonet still retains it's silver-finished blade and is in excellent condition with an intact tip and clean edges.  The stock set on this Izhevsk SKS is the laminate type and is in excellent condition.  Both the stock and handguard are a perfect match to each other in color and condition, and both pieces are free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or major dings/damage.  The Russian inspection cartouches are still clean and visible on the underside of the pistol grip area, and the buttstock is stamped with the matching serial number on the left side with no additional lined-out serial numbers like a lot of examples you will see.  All of the original stock hardware is still intact and in great shape on this SKS, including the buttplate with the spring-loaded trap for the buttstock-housed cleaning kit.  The action on this SKS is smooth and slick, and the bolt to barrel lock-up is nice and tight when in battery.  All of the controls on this Izhevsk are in perfect working order and the trigger is quite good for a military SKS.  There is no doubt that this SKS will still function just as reliably and accurately today as the day it first left the factory 67 plus years ago.  If you have been looking for an investment-quality Russian SKS for your collection here is your chance to get a very handsome all-matching and very scarce Izhevsk example at a good price.  Russian SKS rifles have been increasing steadily in value for many years now, we highly doubt they will ever be any cheaper than they are right now!
