We offer you a “SHOOTER” Savage Arms Model 99 – 99F Lever Action Rifle Chambered in .308 Winchester.
This Savage 99F wears a 22” barrel that has an excellent bore with no issues. It wears the factory sights and the bluing is in fine condition. There is a rough spot on the top of the barrel by the marking as shown. The receiver finish is also in fine condition with wear and thinning from carry. The forearm shows use marks, a filled extra sling swivel hole but no cracks. The butt stock has cracked and properly repaired which is shown in the pictures. It has wear, marks and dings from use as you can see. The L.O.P. over the thin solid recoil pad is 13 3/8”.
The left of the barrel is marked “308 WIN.” and “SP” in oval, the right “HI-PRESSURE STEEL – PROOF TESTED / —-MODEL 99F—-“, and the top “SAVAGE ARMS CORPORATION / CHICOPEE FALLS, MASS. U.S.A.”. The left of the chamber ring is marked “SAVAGE / MODEL 99”. The bottom of the receiver is marked with the serial number “912587” in front of the lever, the front of the lever boss is marked “13H”. That marking tells us it was manufactured in 1956. This rifle is factory drilled and tapped for scope use.
