This is a high quality Belgian turn barrel, folding trigger percussion muff pistol made by August Francotte. The overall length is approx. 6"". The approx. 2.5"" octagon 46 caliber rifled barrel has a good bore with very light erosion. The hair rifling has multiple lands and grooves. The barrel and all metal is bright. The exterior of the barrel has a tight damascus style pattern. The frame, hammer, and butt cap have decorative engraving. The left side of the barrel extension has the oval Belgian ELG proof mark. The frame bottom has the serial number, 58, over a crown over AF, the Francotte inspection mark. The fluted grips are fine win very little wear and with no cracks or chips. The trigger is almost undetectable when it is folded. The action functions correctly. The barrel can be easily unscrewed. This is a very nice percussion muff pistol.
