Description:
Serial# 418428, .22 Short, Long, Long Rifle, 24 inch octagonal barrel with a very good bore with strong rifling and scattered light pitting. This is the Remington Model 12C pump action rifle with half pistol grip stock manufactured in 1917. The barrel retains about 85-87% original blue finish with several nicks and scratches and scattered light freckling with wear on the high edges. The receiver also has about 85% original finish toning to plum-brown on the carry points with light use marks. The tube is mostly toned brown with 35-40% original finish as is the original crescent steel buttplate with Remington marking. The original flat pistol grip wood stocks are very good, with small contusions, scratches & surface blemishes to the thinning original finish with an old, stable 2 inch long crack running with the grain on the front edge of the forearm. The gun is sighted with an adjustable rear sight and Marble's 2S front sight which has a red painted bead. A great model 12C. FFL & C&R
