Description:
Described by General George S. Patton Jr as "the greatest battle implement ever devised", the M1 Garand was the standard service rifle for the US during World War II, the Korean War, and saw limited service during the Vietnam War. This is a excellent example of a Springfield Armory M1 Garand chambered in 30-06 Springfield. This WW2 era M1 Garand was manufactured in 1943 by Springfield Armory and is in beautiful condition, and has gone through at least one arsenal rebuild in its life. This particular rifle was accepted by the CMP in December of 2020 and was given a "Service" grade . The Parkerizing is in excellent condition across the entirety of the rifle and the stock is in fantastic shape. The H&R barrel on this particular rifle was manufactured in March of 1953 and is considered one of the better barrels by many M1 Garand collectors and enthusiasts. The throat of the barrel gauges at a "2+" and the muzzle gauges at a "1+", indicating that the barrel is in excellent condition. The action is tight and the rifle is in 100% working order. This rifle would make an outstanding addition to a collection or a beautiful shooter.
