Description:
This is a Hopkins & Allen. A double action, top break Folding Hammer .38 S & W revolver manufactured by Hopkins & Allen Arms Co Norwich CT. , USA. It is so marked and it has their rare 5 1/2inch barrel. .
The gun is a five-shot top break model with external folding hammer. The nickel finish is 95%. The 5 1/2 inch barrel is the main and collectable feature of the gun and a nice extra is the lanyard ring on the butt. The grips have a chip on the bottom of the left grip.(see photo) The action functions perfectly, the hammer cocks and holds, the trigger drops the hammer. The cylinder spins as designed when the hammer is at rest, but the lock up is tight when the hammer falls. The top break action functions well and the spring is strong. The bore is excellent.
