This is a 1936 made Kriehgoff luger. This variation is known as a "36 Code" gun due to the way it is dated at the top of the receiver. According to Gibson who wrote the book on HK's there were only 500 of this variation made and they fall in the 3900 - 4700 range. This gun is all matching and has the proper Krieghoff military proofs. This gun is mostly correct, but we believe the finish has been partially restored in a few small areas, specifically the barrel, chamber, and side plate. We also believe the side plate was re-numbered to match. The small parts have all been re-strawed. In any case, there is minor wear at the base of the straps, on the side rails, high edges of the side plate, and around the muzzle. Some very light scratches on the barrel. The gun comes with excellent Krieghoff grips and a matching magazine. We believe, however, that the numbering and proof on the magazine are not original. Excellent bore - shiny with strong rifling.
