Description:
Excellent plus overall condition with matching factory box, manual, and an extra magazine. Small amount of corrosion present on the left side of the slide. No dash.

Manufactured between 1954-1983, this Smith & Wesson Model 39 9mm was developed for the United States Army service pistol trials of 1954 and is regarded as the first U.S.-designed double-action, semi-automatic pistol marketed within the United States. This construct serves as one of many high-quality handguns that helped elevate the Smith & Wesson’s reputation above its competitors, as the Model 39 epitomizes Smith & Wesson’s mechanically excellent handgun designs. Featuring checkered walnut grips embedded with silver Smith & Wesson medallions, a blued finish, the Smith & Wesson trademark logo on the right side of the frame, a checkered backstrap, and a slide which reads “Pat’s Pending” on its right side. Accompanied by its original factory box of corresponding serial numbers containing the manual and an additional magazine, this pistol makes for an enjoyable sidearm as well as an aesthetically pleasing collectible.
