Description:
A complete Mauser model 1888 made at Loewe & Co. Berlin, in 1891 . Bolt works well and has a different number 9667 Appears complete and working, with numeroius stock dins and scraped from field use and possibly changed hands several time to different nations during it's 100+ life. SN 7561 as is also the magazine and floorplate. Bolt SN 9667. The barrel has a shroud and bore is very clean with strong rifling, not corroded, These are not generally safe to shoot with modern ammo, but ,loaded with blackpowder.The german walnut stock has field hamdling dings and scrapes and some oil staining. Has all German proofs and no evidence that it was Cninese or Turkish useage , also the S on the receiver for Spitzer bullets. Rear sigth has Western numbers. Comes with it's cleaning rod, usuall missing. Overall a represantative of a European Military turn of the century issued rifle.When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
