About Us: I have had great luck in my sales through "GUNS INTERNATIONAL". This is the only site I use and do not plan to change.

Description:
This unusual gun has a lock marked "Harpers Ferry 1843". The lock has been highly polished and has the Eagle and US also on the lock although difficult to read. The guns of this period were usually made by Springfield and it is possible Springfield used any available locks. It is a 69 caliber smooth bore and was converted from Flint to percussion via the bolster method. This particular rifle was converted by cutting the barrel off and a new breech with bolster inserted. This bolster has a clean out screw. Many of this type of conversions were rifled, but this on is not. These guns were issued to Union troops early in the war.
