This is a single shot falling block rifle
This was one of Ruger's Liberty Rifles made in 1976 celebrating the 200th year of our Republic.
This rifle was bought brand new in 1976 and was displayed in a case for over 30 years in my fathers gun shop to promote Ruger firearms.
As far as I know this rifle has never been fired. After the shop closed it sat in my dads store safe since 2009.
The rifle is in excellent condition. The metal is flawless. The stock checkering is flawless. The rifling is perfect. The only flaws this rifle has is three dents from poor safe handling over the last decade.
There is a small dent in the right side of the foreend (picture 11)
There are 2 dents in the right side of the stock (picture 12) Lower right of stock and a small imperfection at the front of the cheek riser.
These are the only things that keep this rifle from being perfect.
I am not sure what exact model the Leopold scope is on it, but its a long range, duplex reticle, 12x scope that is adjustable at the bell end from 40 to 800 meters. The scope is crystal clear. It has Leopold proprietary rings attaching it to the rifle. I have no idea if the scope is sighted to the rifle.
Unforunately there is no box or manual for the rifle
