Description:
Deringer contract civil war musket.  Prior to the civil war sought to obtain a contract to produce 69 caliber rifled muskets to the US government and the state of Pennsylvania based on the US M-16/22/28 series of arms.  While it's not known if a US government Contract was made several hundred of these rare muskets were purchased by the State of Pennsylvania.  Derringer produced these arms partially from left over parts from the M-1817 production including the brass tipped ramrod and lock parts. The full 3 band walnut stock is in very good condition with only minor handling marks. The full 42" rifled barrel is in very good condition with both front and correct leaf rear sight.  The lock is marked US Deringer Philadel and works fine. All metal parts are in the original bright with a scattered light brown patina.  The gun is original with the brass tipped ramrod but is missing the sling swivels.  A very rare civil war musket.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Shipping will be actual cost approximately $50.00.
