Description:
.38 HAND EJECTOR M&P 1905, 4TH CHANGE WITH NOTARIZED FAMILY HISTORY, #561XXX. This blued 5" barrel revolver comes with an aged typed letter notarized in 1973 which identifies this revolver by serial number and states: "...is an heirloom from my uncle, Mr. C. F. Ferguson (Deceased). The weapon was purchased by Mr. Ferguson in 1932 in Lewis County, Kentucky and was carried by him in his duties as a peace officer for twelve (12) years." It is signed by Delmar L. Wright of Southfield, Michigan and comes with a green card Safety Inspection Certificate listing this revolver by serial number and dated 1973. Interestingly, inside the grips is written "Harley Malone 1929." I assume this revolver was purchased by C. F. Ferguson from Harley Malone, but who knows? At least we know some history of this one that it was used from 1932-1944 by Mr. Ferguson when he was a Peace Officer in Kentucky. Maybe some more research will turn up more info on him. Aside from that, the revolver shows normal carry wear. There is good blue on the barrel with thinning/graying on the left side and a little less on the right side. the grip straps are gray/brown with edge wear throughout. Fine markings with the last patent date 1914 on the barrel. Grips fit perfectly and show similar wear, but not chipped or cracked. Still some good case colors on the hammer and trigger. Tight action, bright bore. Wonderful Pre-War quality. A Great Depression law enforcement artifact!
