Description:
The Winchester Model 1890 was made from 1890 to 1932, with approximately 849,000 manufactured. This slide-action repeating rifle was the standard use firearm for shooting galleries for years and was given the nickname "gallery gun". This particular example was manufactured in 1926 and features a 24" octagonal barrel chambered in 22WRF, walnut stock and forend, and Lyman model 101 rear folding sight which replaced the factory rear sight. This barrel of this rifle retains most of its blued finish which is seldom seen on Model 1890s of this vintage. The receiver, butt plate, and magazine tube have developed a very nice patina. The stock and forearm retain most of their original finish and are in great condition for the age of this rifle. The bore is in excellent shape with plenty of rifling left. This rifle is in fantastic mechanical condition and is a very solid rifle. This 1890 has tons of character and has stood the test of time.
