Description:
# 077 Marcel Thys  450NE  sidelock ejector in oak and leather case.
Made in 1984, it started its life as a 458 Win mag. I re-chambered it as a 450 NE a couple years ago and regulated it for Hornady 480 Gr at 55 yards.
26 ¼” barrels with a 3 leaves rear sight and a .105” silver bead. Fresh reblack and like new bores.
The rifle weighs 10 pounds 7 Oz and balances 2” in front of the hinge, making feel and point like a British best rifle.
Very tight action with long top strap and bolted safety. Back action locks with great trigger pulls, 80% coverage of tight scrolls.
15”LOP over a .800 leather covered Decelerator pad, 1 ½” and 2 ¾” drop ¼” cast off. Splinter forend with lever type release.
Overall condition, cosmetically and mechanically is 98% +.
I haven’t seen the rifle since 1984 when we both left the great city of Liege and it was a pleasure to be able to work on it.
Now shooting , nicely, a rim cartridge with low operating pressure , great ballistic and a vast bullet choice.
