Description:
A nice and unusual 1884 Springfield Trap Door Carbine with South Carolina Markings complete with the cleaning rod and ruptured cartridge extractor. It also has a hood on the front sight, something I have never seen before. It has a cartouche of 1877 indicating that the stock has been replaced sometime in the past. The bore is clean with strong rifling and is lightly oxidised without pitts. All parts appear to be correct. This gun is unusually clean and in very nice condition.
