Description:
Very nice deluxe rifle. Per the Cody letter it was a 30" barrel originally, but it was sent back to Winchester for repairs or modifications in 1897 and 1904. The wood is XX grade as stamped on the tang. Apparently when sent back the barrel was cut off to a 26" barrel with a shotgun butt installed. Dont know who did the engraving. Some case colors remaining on the lever and hammer. Also checkering on the stock wood. Barrel and magazine blue have turned to bluish brown. Frame has turned to grey and brown. Manufactured in 1888. Cody factory letter is included. Very nice unique deluxe rifle.
