Joe Bowman was a Houston boot maker and expert marksman that used the moniker "Straight Shooter" and a straight shooter he was. Quick draw, trick shooting, champion of Western lore, and ambassador of goodwill. This revolver honors his lifetime achievements. The hammer and trigger have gold plate and rate excellent. The smooth faux ivory factory grips with black Ruger Phoenix medallions rate excellent. "Joe Bowman" is on the right side of the barrel in script, "Straight Shooter" on the top of the backstrap, "1 OF 500" on the butt, and each chamber of the cylinder has a wisp of scroll on top of a variety of Old West symbols including: a revolver, pair of boots, four aces, Texas Ranger's badge, whip and a saddle, all are gold etched. .45 Colt
