The Winchester Model 40 was manufactured in 1940 and 1941 only, as Winchester's second attempt at manufacturing a self loading semi automatic shotgun. This gun has a 3 digit serial number that dates to 1940. Wood is solid and shows only a few light scratches and impressions in the wood. Metal has some light scratches on receiver and blue loss where forend slides onto barrels. Complete with original box and Model 40 Manual! Nice example! 12 Gauge
