Description:
Savage model 99R in 300 Savage. Built in 1954, this rifle is in excellent original condition. The 24" barrel has a mint bore. The rifle retains 98% of the original blue and 95% of the original wood finish. The bore is mint with sharp well defined rifling. The rifle is factory drilled and tapped for scope mounting or for installation of a peep sight. Other features include the lever safety, brass cartridge counter, engine turned bolt body, hand checkered walnut stock and forend, case colered lever, and steel buttplate. The 99R was marketed as the "heavy rifle" with a longer and wider forend and a heavier stock. This is a great all aournd big game rifle and very collectible.C&R eliglble.
