Description:
SOLD   Here is one of the nicest Colt Lightnings I have seen. It has an interesting history. Sold to Floradora Tag Company, Philadelphia, Pa. Shipped to Continental Tobacco Company, New York on November 17, 1902. These guns were prizes from the tobacco company to users of their product. It is like S&H Greenstamps used to work.  I do have the Colt Archives letter which will be included.  Bore in the 4 1/2" barrel is like new.  A very high percentage of the original case color hardening remains.  Some of the case has faded on the frame, but take a look, it still looks great.  A very high percentage of the original blue remains.  There is some very slight loss on the barrel and ejector housing.  You will see reflections on the blue, especially on the cylinder.  Markings are clear, original, and easy to see.  Numbers do match.   The fire blue parts are outstanding.  Grips are excellent with no cracks or chips.  They show little wear and fit perfectly.  Each is numbered and match the serial number.  Action works perfectly in both double and single action.  Lockup is tight.  Year of manufacture is 1902.   You will like this Colt Lightning.  It is one of the best I have seen.  You can look for a long time and not find a better one.  It is good enough for any collection.  American Arms & Antiques item #2705
