Description:
The Colt Detective Special was the first revolver to be known as a snubnose revolver.  It was introduced in 1927 and was last produced in 1995.  The beautifully engraved model on sale here was made in 1976 and engraved by Colt Master Engraver Denise Thirion. As this was made in 1976 it would be some of Denise’s earlier work with Colt.  Denise’s name is engraved under the grips.  The gun appears to have never been fired and the bluing and the engraving are in pristine condition.  The grips are Altamont bonded ivory as you can see from the photographs. Included in the sale is an original Colt Archive Letter from the Office of the Colt Historian verifying the original sale date of the gun to a dealer in Little Rock Arkansas and confirming the engraving by Denise Thirion.

It is the customer’s responsibility to make sure the firearm they are ordering is legal in their state.

The price for shipping is $75 due mainly because of the cost of insured shipping.  Some FFL’s will only take shipments from another FFL which I am able to get done, but it will cost an extra $25.
