The Winchester Model 61 rifle was introduced in 1932 and was a hammerless design with a tubular magazine. The Model 61 was historically significant in the progression of Winchester’s firearm technology as it was the brand’s first hammerless design. Manufactured in 1960, this Model 61 also incorporates a 2-piece smooth walnut stock with a grooved slide handle, a smooth pistol grip, straight comb, checkered steel buttplate, dovetail beaded blade front sight at the front of the barrel paired with a dovetail “U”-notch elevator rear sight at the rear of the barrel, push-button safety, standard markings, and a blued finish.
