Wow if this pistol could talk what stories would she tell, was she bat mastersons hide away gun?  Was this the pistol Big Nose Kate kept in her garter?  If only she could talk! LOOK AT THE BORE PICS!!  I got this folding hammer 38cal Merwin Hulbert several years ago. I have not tried to clean or polish the metal surfaces not to ruin its collector value.  I am sure the metal would clean up to make a better looking piece.  I will leave that choice to the new owner.  I never had any plans to shoot it and I have not shot it.  It is a really neat gun and I had to have it.  As you can see by the pictures it has a folding hammer and a very nice set or REAL Mother of Pearl Grips.  It works as it should in double, in single action you have to have your finger on the trigger to put slight pressure on the trigger to lock the hammer, I don't know if that is by design or not.
Looks to have been refinished at some point only marking on the outside of the gun I can find is 38cal. The serial number is under the grip. I offer it here as I bought it as a neat pistol.  You should for sure have it checked by a gunsmith before trying to shoot it.  I think these are black powder guns just buy their design not designed for any high pressure loads for positive. This is a tight lockup as I have seen on one of these pistols. The bore on this gun is much better than average!  This is a collectors item in my opinion and I would never shoot one of these guns without having a gunsmith evaluate the gun and they were never ment for modern ammo.  Please do not beat me up on this! $60 shipping from my FFL to your FFL!  Payment is by money order only.  My dealer does not ship to California, No International buyers pleas! If you think my price is too high make me your best offer!
