SCARCE U.S. MDL. M1 GARAND, MFG. 8/42, CAL. .30-06. # 771554, . THIS M1 WAS REBUILT RIGHT AFTER WWII, AND PRIOR TO KOREA WITH THE HIGHLY DESIRABLE "MARLIN BARREL". IT HAS RETAINED ABOUT 80% OF THE ORIGINAL LIGHT GRAY PARKERIZING. THE MAJOR LOSS IS FROM SHARP EDGE SILVERING AND AND SOME SLIGHT FADING. THERE ARE NO RUST PATCHES, PIN PRICKS, SCRATCHES OR RUB MARKS ANYWHERE. THE RECEIVER AND BOLT ARE SPRINGFIELD. THE TRIGGER GROUP IS WINCHESTER. THE ORIGINAL STOCK STILL HAS ALMOST ALL OF THE ORIGINAL LACQUER. HOWEVER IT DOES HAVE SEVERAL NICKS AND DINGS, BUT DOES NOT SHOW ANY CRACKS. THE LEFT SIDE HAS THE ORIGINAL SPRINGFIELD CARTOUCHE AND THE PROPER CIRCLE "P" PROOF STAMP ON THE PISTOL GRIP. THE BORE DOES SHOW SOME MODEST USE, HOWEVER IT IS STILL BRIGHT WITH SHARP WELL DEFINED RIFLING AND SOME LIGHT SCATTERED FROST. THE GUN SEEMS TO OPERATE PROPERLY AND LOCKS UP TIGHT. IT IS A GREAT FIND FOR THE COLLECTOR THAT WANTS A WWII VETERAN AND DOESN'T WANT TO SELL THE FARM TO GET ONE. IT WOULD BE A GREAT ADDITION TO A COLLECTION AND REAL FUN AT THE RANGE.
