Colt 3rd Generation Signature Series 1847 Walker .44 Cal Black Powder Revolver. This is a reproduction of the original Colt Walker. The 1847 Colt Walker was the most powerful handgun available up until the 1935 debut of the Smith and Wesson model 27, the very first .357 magnum chambering. The Colt Walker was created in the mid-1840s in a collaboration between Texas Ranger Captain Samuel Hamilton Walker (1817–1847) and American firearms inventor Samuel Colt (1814–62), building upon the earlier Colt Paterson design. Walker wanted a handgun that was extremely powerful at close range. This 1847 Walker features an open top frame, 9 inch octagonal/round barrel, six shot cylinder, case colored push rod and frame, walnut grips, and brass trigger guard and front strap. Ths 1847 is unfired and in excellent condition. The blued finish is in fantastic shape with various light handling marks, and the faintest turn mark on the cylinder. The case coloring on the push rod and frame is in beautiful condition and still very vibrant. The brass trigger guard and front strap have been discolored from handling but could be easily polished to like-new condition. The bore of this particular 1847 is in like-new condition. All of the factory markings are prestine and crisp. The original factory grips on this Model 1847 are also in like-new condition with very minor amounts of visible wear. The action on this Model 1847 is smooth,timed perfectly, and has a superb lock up. This Model 1847 Walker is in 100% mechanical condition.
