Very strong example of an early Smith and Wesson Pocket Tip-Up Model One, 3rd Issue with desirable Blued Finish. 7 Shot Fluted Cylinder in .22 Short. Standard 3 3/16" Round Barrel with Birdshead Rosewood Grips. Made from 1868-1881, the 3rd Issue was made of all steel with a more stream-lined appearance compared to its brass-frame predecessors, the 1st (1857-60) and 2nd (1860-68) Issues. See Last Photo for a Comparison. Hammer and ejector pin have most of their original color casehardened finish still visible. Frame and Barrel are 97% Bright Original Inky Blue with the barrel flaked to 70% original blue. The tip up barrel locks up tightly to the frame with no wiggle or play. Action cycles perfectly like new. Bore is Excellent, Near Mint. Original Ebony Rosewood Grips are Excellent retaining 95% of their original piano varnish.
