Description: General Specs: Parker, Year 1910, 12 Gauge, 7lbs 13oz, Chokes M/F, LOP 14 1/4", DAH 2 9/16", DAC 1 13/16" Serial Number: 153483 Parkers remain the "king of the hill" when it comes to American made vintage double shotguns. When you examine closely the fit and finish on the Parker guns, it is impeccable. Parker was amongst the best at balancing their guns as well, with guns feeling much lighter in hand than the scale would indicate. Today we present a fully restored Parker VH 12ga, built on the heavy number 2 frame with 30” barrels choked M/F, mirror bores, tight ribs, and barrels tight on face like a new gun. Parker guns have a beginning weight stamped on the barrel flats that will give you an idea of how thick the breech area of the barrels is, heavier weights indicating guns built for heavy loads. These barrels had a start weight of 4lbs. 7oz. which is heavy even for a #2 frame Parker. This gun was built to shoot heavy loads for pheasants, waterfowl, turkey, and other tough game. They made a lot of VH Grade 12 gauge Parker guns, and most that you encounter have been used hard over the years and are likely loose on face or mechanically needy guns with short stocks, after market pads, or non-original parts. This gun has been restored to new by the Larry Del Grego and Sons, who have specialized in restoring Parker guns since the early 1950’s when Larry Del Grego Sr. left the employ of Remington as the head of the Parker Gun division. Parker expertise has been handed down through 3 generations of Del Grego men…these guys know what they are doing! Mechanically the gun is shiny clean inside and out. The case colors and blued surface are 100% condition. The screws are excellent and the triggers are crisp and function properly. The wood has only a few minor handling marks and retains all of its renewed finish. Parker guns are known to develop minor splits in the stock behind the top tang. This gun has a well-done repair at the head of the stock that has a cross pin to stabilize the repair. This is a rock-solid and most effective way to stabilize the wood for the use of heavy loads. This is the type of Parker that would make an excellent clay target gun as well for all the vintage shoots that are burgeoning across the country. The 7lb. 15oz. weight and 30” heavy barrels are perfect for high volume shooting and high scores. The gun balances perfectly on the hinge pin and is nimble for an 8lb. gun. The stock has good modern shooting dimensions and terminates in a classy Parker Dogs Head buttplate. This Parker has it all and won’t break the bank. It needs no additional work…she is ready to go shoot and enjoy for years to come while she increases in value over time. Thanks for looking!
