#39440, Winchester Model 1886 Heavy Barrel in 40-65 W.C.F. with the Original Case Colored Receiver, Made Feb. 25, 1890, 26" Octagon Heavy Barrel, The bore is excellent plus with very sharp rifling the entire way and totally free of any pits, The front sight with a brass bead and marked "Marble" and "Sheard", The rear sight is Marked "King" and has a sliding elevator, Full length magazine with a 9 cartridge capacity (Load it on Sunday & shoot it all week), Crescent buttplate, Very solid wood that will go another lifetime, 9 lbs. 1 oz., The barrel blue remains at 25%, The magazine tube has been reblued and is at 90%, The original case colors on the receiver remain at 35% with a nice patina, The stock finish is at 65%, The only thing done to this piece was a reblue of the magazine tube, forend cap, the steel buttplate and everything else is original. Here is a doggone nice Model 1886 with a bore almost as good as it was from day one when it left the factory in 1890. Most likely this 1886 lived its entire life in Northern California and has been stored for about 60 years.
