"Made circa 1775. Approximately 52 caliber with a 5.25" barrel. Gun is 9.5" in overall length. Lock is marked “J. Murdoch". Metal is nicely engraved and remains sharp. Inside of the grip area appears to be repaired. Action works perfectly. In the book THE SCOTTISH PISTOL by Martin Kelvin, on page 122 there is another pistol made the exact same as this one. This gun is identified as a Doune manufactured gun. Very nice early Scottish Flintlock Pistol!
