Description:
Stunningly beautiful and high condition Winchester 70 Super Grade in 30-06, but has several notable discrepancies from original, prompting my much lower than typical price for this configuration. Those discrepancies are: An area of glass bedding around recoil lug which is not visible externally, the rear receiver is non factory drilled for scope mount, (Pre Wars were only drilled on front ring, no exceptions) and the current swivel bases are the narrower type to fit Uncle Mike style detachable swivels. There are no swivels included in this sale. The front sight is the correct Redfield full gold bead and the floorplate is stamped SUPER GRADE with the correct Pre War font. Unique 4 digit S/N 9595 with faint but matching scribed bolt made in 1937. 98% Blue and Varnish. 24" Barrel with minty bore and perfect butter smooth mechanical functions throughout, typical of these supreme quality, early rifles.
