Description:
According to consigner, this item was assembled from parts at an arms depot, located in the vicinity of Mobile, Alabama, late in the Civil War...The 34" twist steel barrel is bored .69 and is smooth...The balance of the gun, except for the loading rod, appears to be made up of military style parts, typical of those that would \have been salvaged from battle field pickups.. . Note the loading rod is crudely made of wood...This item is unmarked, except for V P and Belgian proof marks, stamped on the barrel and US stamped on the buttplate...Research has revealed no record of this item so far...Your input is encouraged...
