Description:
WINCHESTER 1892 "HIGH GRADE" ENGRAVED AND GOLD INLAYED .45 COLT CALIBER RIFLE, NEW IN BOX, #NTH 01XX. I believe only 1000 of these were made by Winchester/Miroku in the 1990s. This example has the original, excellent condition box and end label showing the serial number, caliber, 24 1/4" barrel etc. This one has beautiful highly figured fancy walnut in the stock and forearm. Both are sharply checkered and the butt stock has a crescent butt plate. The right side of the receiver is engraved with an oak leaf motif with a gold pronghorn antelope and gold inlay borders. Similarly, the left side shows a gold white tail deer buck and doe with similar oak leaf engraving and gold border inlays. The barrel has a buckhorn rear sight paired with a blade/bead dovetailed front sight. All in new, unfired condition with paperwork in the box. These are hard to find, especially with the numbered box.
