Description:
On Hold Sale Pending Extremely rare Civil War musket, only a few dozen were made by Deringer for sale to the US Government very early in the civil war on the patern of the 1816/1822.  These were made of some parts left over from Deringer's Model 1817 Common rifle and new made parts.  The functioning lock is marked US Derringer/ Philadel.  The barrel is full 42 inches with both original front and ladder rear sights.  The brass tipped ramrod is original to the gun and.similar to his common rifle.  The full 3 band walnut stock is in very good condition.  All metal parts are in the bright with alittle brown patina.  The good 69 caliber bore has deep rifling.  Both sling swivels are missing.  I also read that it's believed these were probably purchased by the state of Pennsylvania. This extremely rare musket is in very good overall condition.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions.  Shipping will be actual cost approximately $50.00.  On Hold Sale Pending
