UPDATED!!!! Extremely fine and lightweight James Wodward and Sons 16ga game gun, originally made for a woman. This gun appears all original in every aspect including the original case, original canvas cover, and original accessories. It is a "Best" grade gun with beautiful arcaded fences, near full coverage Rose and Scroll engraving, beautifully figured stocks and gold inlaid "SAFE" in front of safety. Made with straight stock, splinter forend, double triggers and original 28" barrels. This gun was made for Lena Flemmich in July of 1904, was inherited by her niece and aquired by our client from her in the early 2000's.
These small bore Woodwards are nearly impossible to source and this is a great gun with the original monogrammed canvas case cover, monogrammed case, and original "W.J. Jeffrey" hang tag. The gun is in excellent overall original condition with traces of original case color remaining. Stocks are sound, bores are brilliant and shiny, and mechancs are crisp. Overall the gun is quite pleasing and original. A slip on pad could easily be added to hadd another 3/4". Conversely- this gun is priced where a custom stock could be made for it and you can have it to any dimensions you wish and still not be buried in the gun!!!
