Description:
General Specs: Dakota Arm, Italian, Year 2004, 20 Gauge, 6lbs 4oz, Chokes SK/IC, LOP 14 1/2", DAH 2 9/16", DAC 1 9/16"
Serial Number: 1104

This is a new, unfired Italian boxlock ROUND BODY with fancy scalloped action, gorgeous engraving, wood, fit, and finish.  Built by S.I.A.C.E. of Gardone Val Trompia, Italy (the gunmaking center of Italy) and imported and marketed by Dakota Arms of Sturgis South Dakota in the early 2000’s, it is a delightful upland gun built to order with many custom features.  When it comes to eye appeal, the Italians really score high.  Give me an English stocked, 28” barreled small bore with a round body action and the gun just screams “RACEY”.   The Gardone, Italy firearms industry produces fine firearms and this one is no exception.  The balance, wood to metal fit, wood figure, and barrels are all top-quality workmanship.  And at 6 1/4lbs she is a delight to swing and carry.  The 28” barrels are choked Skeet/IC for upland birds behind dogs, have 100% factory blue, file cut top rib, and factory 3” chambers.  The dainty round action is hand engraved with vine and foliate engraving and game scenes, is rebated top and bottom to capture the head of the stock, has a fancy scalloped back of the action, and is mechanically excellent in every way.  This is a-very-hard-to-find single trigger gun with the trigger set in the mid-position.  The ejectors are strong and well timed.  THIS GUN IS NEW, UNFIRED, WITH NO PRIMER MARKS AROUND THE FIRING PIN HOLES.  It has been stored in the maker’s canvas and leather case since new in 2004.  There were not many of these guns imported but they can be compared to other Italian makers of the highest order.  The wood is wonderfully figured Turkish walnut finished in a hand-rubbed oil finish without a mark or ding anywhere.  Inside the case is a checkered wood buttplate that may have been the original buttplate, along with the two engraved screws in case you want the LOP to be reduced from 14 ½” to about 14 1/8”.  The Italian game guns are very good values and SIACE has been well respected in the Italian gun trade since the 1960’s.  You just cannot find a round action, hand engraved and checkered, Italian gun with killer Turkish walnut in this price range, especially in brand-new and unfired condition.  The canvas and leather case is in excellent condition as well and it has snap caps and the maker’s label.  Thanks for looking, and don’t miss out on this fine upland gun that would be just as fun to use on the skeet or sporting clays course.
