Solid Deluxe Savage Model 1899 Takedown .250-3000 22" Featherweight Barrel, Perch Belly Stock for sale. The Deluxe Model 1899 was designed specifically for the new .250-3000 Savage cartridge. Fitted with 22” featherweight takedown barrel, pistol-grip, checkered perch belly stock and unique checkered trigger. SN#172305 indicates that this rifle was manufactured in 1915 in the second year of production of this new model for Savage. Brass cartridge counter. Barrel and receiver show expected wear and marks for 106 years of age. Scratch on top of barrel immediately in front of front sight. Blade and buckhorn factory original iron sights. Free from any scope drilling. Wood shows signs of use with a few major scratches and dents. However, coloring of wood is fantastic and rich in a reddish-brown hue. No cracks at forend or tang. No chips or pieces missing where butt stock meets plate. Small chip missing from schnabel fore lip on left side, right sight of upper tang wood. Factory original butt plate horizontally lined with chief logo encircled at bottom. Some rusting and pitting on plate. Case color evident on lever. Pistol grip cap in fine shape with no cracks or gouges. Screw slots have been accessed as is expected but remain in good shape.Takedown latch operates smoothly. Barrel stamping in excellent condition. Bore is excellent and smooth with prominent rifling. Ships to FFL for $45. Cannot ship direct.
