Savage Model 99 Take-Down Rifle fitted with a 20 inch tapered barrel, Walnut forearm with Schnabel tip, Walnut stock with steel serrated butt-plate, rifle-style open sights (rear is stamped "Savage Arms Corp.", cocking indicator, cartridge counter, take-down configuration, color case-hardened finished lever, all other parts blue finished, and chambered in the rare .22 Savage Hi-Power cartridge. The rifle is in very fine all-original condition, retaining 80-85% blue finish, with most loss on the top of the barrel and the butt-plate (from handling). There is some light corrosion spotting on the right side of the barrel, behind the front sight, and on the bottom of the barrel take-down frame. This rifle has NOT been modified in any way nor drilled and tapped for optics. The butt-plate has lost all of its finish, having turned a grey patina. The bore is bright, with sharp rifling, and the action functions perfectly. The take down process works flawlessly. Good looking and a nice example of its type.
