Description:
Here we have an absolutely beautiful and pristine Winchester Model 70 Featherweight Deluxe rifle chambered in the scarce and sought-after 7mm Mauser cartridge, otherwise known as the 7x57mm Mauser.  This handsome and classy Model 70 Featherweight Deluxe is completely American-made, having been built under license from the Browning Arms Company at the FN America plant in Columbia, South Carolina sometime between 2010 and 2012.  The Winchester Model 70 has been long known as one of the all-time classic American-made bolt-action rifles, with pre-1964 and American-made and assembled models particularly sought-after by both collectors and shooters alike.  First introduced in 1937, the Model 70 has been built in countless variations over it's production life which continues even today, although assembly of the rifles now takes place in Portugal.  This particular example is a Model 70 Featherweight, a deluxe and lightweight version of the standard rifle.  This high-end option-packed model features a pre-64 Mauser-style extractor and controlled round feed action, a high-polish gloss blue factory finish, a factory drilled and tapped receiver, a polished and jeweled bolt body, a knurled bolt knob, a gloss black-finished 1-piece alloy triggerguard and magazine housing, a blued steel hinged floorplate, a 5-round internal magazine, a 22" inch lightweight "sporter" profile barrel, a 3 to 5 lb adjustable "MOA" trigger system, a blade-style ejector, a 3-position safety, and a satin-finished Grade II fleur-de-lis checkered Walnut stock with a factory Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad, sing swivel studs, a black pistol grip cap, and a Schnabel forend.  The whole rifle weighs 6 pounds and 12 ounces unloaded without optics.  As mentioned earlier, this Winchester is in mint condition and appears to be unfired since leaving the factory.  The stunning factory gloss blue finish is bright, pristine, and beautiful, rating 99% and showing no finish wear, handling marks, scratches, or defects of any kind.  The factory markings are crisp and perfect, and the factory installed plug screws show no evidence of ever having been removed.  The gloss black finish on the triggerguard is equally as pristine and like-new.  The bore in the 22" inch hammer-forged barrel is mirror-bright and perfect, showing razor-sharp rifling and zero imperfections or erosion.  The factory stock on this Model 70 Featherweight is particularly beautiful with a consistent color and some handsome figure from the butt to the Schnabel forend.  This stock shows no dents, scratches, dings, chips, cracks, or repairs.  The checkering is sharp and clean with no oil-soaking, soiling, or chipping, and the borders between the checkered and raised areas are all razor-sharp.  All of the factory stock hardware is intact and like-new, and the factory-installed recoil pad was perfectly fit to the butt with a seamless joint.  The internals in this Winchester are just as pristine and free from wear as the exterior.  The action is slick and smooth but yet precise and tight, and the bolt turns into battery with the barrel seamlessly with no grit or slop.  All of the controls are like-new and in perfect working order, and the factory adjustable MOA trigger is superb, breaking like a thin glass rod with a light pull.  There is no doubt that this rifle will function just as well today as the day it left the factory, however the barrel has not even begun to be "broken in".  This Winchester comes with the original owner's manual and several factory pamphlets in the original clear plastic shipping bag but NO BOX, it was lost along the way.  As it sits now, this rifle could pass for having been built yesterday rather than 9 or more years ago!  If you have been looking for a very classy and handsome American-made Winchester Model 70 Featherweight for your collection here is your chance to get one with some very desirable features in pristine condition in a very scarce and neat chambering.  It would be all but impossible to upgrade from this beauty in any regard.
