Imperial proofs on right-side of the receiver, 1913 date on top of the chamber, DWM logo on middle toggle link. Lacking the hold-open device and a stock lug which is indicative of a proper 1913 Luger. Front grip ha the military marking "14.R.5.11", identifying its service with the 14th infantry regiment, 5th company, and the 11th pistol of the 4th division (write-up accompanies pistol). Original rust blued finish is in the 90% range with slight indications that smaller parts may have been touched up. Corresponding serial numbers throughout, apart from the magazine, which is the correct wood-bottom style, but numbered to a different pistol. Interior of barrel is dirty but may improve with some attention.

Manufactured in 1913 by DWM under a contract for the German military, this Model 1908 Luger is well-known for its use by German soldiers in WWI, WWII, and other nations in various conflicts around the world. The Luger’s legacy as one of the first reliable, semi-automatic designs made it an instant success and cemented its place in firearm history. This pistol utilizes a toggle-lock action, which incorporates a jointed arm to lock, as opposed to the slide actions of almost every other semi-automatic pistol. The metal components are rust blued, with smaller components being strawed and nitre blued. Receiver is marked "1913" over the chamber with DWM proofs on the right-hand side. The right side of the receiver, barrel, and left side of breech block bear German Imperial Eagle stamps. The front grip strap is marked "14.R.5.11.", believed to indicate its service to the 4th Division-14th Infantry Regiment-5th Company. Apart from the magazine, all serial numbers are corresponding making this a valuable addition to any collection.
