Colt Single Action Army SAA 3rd Gen Sheriff's Model .44-40/.44 Special 1979 or 1980 we think. There are two cyllinders for the gun. Both serial numbered to the gun. Serial Number is SA4042X I think the model number is P-1934
The last number if the serial number has been covered. We did NOT remove the grips for pictures
Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “COLT SHERIFF'S MODEL”, the top of the barrel is marked “COLT’S PT. F. A. MFG. CO. / HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A.”, the right is marked "COLT S.A.A. 44 CAL.". The left side of the frame is marked “PAT. SEPT. 19, 1871 / JULY 2,72 JAN. 19,75” and with a rampant colt. The underside of the frame at the grip frame is marked “SA4042X”.The left front of the trigger guard is marked with a “VP” in a triangle and at the rear with a “K”, the right front is marked "H". The front face of each cylinder is marked "042X", the rear face of one is marked "44-40", the other "44S". The outside of one cylinder is marked "44-40", the other "44 SPL.". Berrel is 3"
The gun is exactly as you see it This is listed as "Used" but does not look as it was fired. There is NO box, NO paper work, NOTHING other then the gun and a spare cyllinder. Two Cylinders serial numbered to the gun. One is 44 Special and the other is 44.40 This is a guess. The gun was purchased, never fired. Maybe fondled some, but again. Does not appear to have had been fired. It clear the hammer and cylinder has been turned and changed and returned to 44 Special. It is exactly as you see it. We think the estate had this particular piece for a possession then went to inventory. Gun was wrapped in one of those silicon gun cloths. Same one you will get it wrapped in.
This came from one of five (5) seperate estates of an FFL/SOT Gun Smith, Gun Stores. This is or was inventory. This is or was part of the collection. Please check the pictures to check condition. There will be countless other listings from this inventory over the next 4 to 5 years. We are selling for the each. We did NOT buy out.. This is NOT a liquidation. There are no lists and will be no lists. Just keep checking the other listings. We list as time permits as all of 5 of us closed our doors.
