Description:
"Cased British Smith & Wesson Style Pocket Revolver with Holland Retailer Markings. This is a handsome British revolver more or less following the Smith & Wesson No.1 design. The notable differences being the larger overall size, hammer shape being more in line with other British revolvers of the period, and the grip panels being secured in the Sharps-style with a wide escutcheon along the bottom. The barrel, cylinder and ejector spud retain about 80% original bright blue with overall flaking to a pleasant gray-brown patina and a few light handling marks. The frame has mostly flaked to a similar smooth gray-brown patina with areas of strong bright blue scattered about the protected areas along with some very light freckling. The small parts show lovely fire blue, particularly brilliant along the hammer and the barrel rib is neatly engraved “H. HOLLAND 98 NEW BOND ST. LONDON. No.401." The smooth walnut grips remain in very good plus condition.
