Description:
This is a very handsome, high-condition, never modified 3-Screw Old Model Ruger Blackhawk in .357 Magnum with a 4 & 5/8ths" inch barrel.  This is a pre-prefix gun serial number 107950, manufactured in 1967.  It has been fired, but very, very little from what we can see.  The factory gloss blue finish on all of the steel parts rates 95 to 97%, with the only deductions coming from a very faint drag-line around the cylinder and some scattered minor handling marks.  The black factory finish on the aluminum alloy triggerguard and grip frame is also in excellent shape overall, only showing some tiny little marks on the bottom edge of the butt.  All of the factory markings are crisp and clear, and all three of the original factory screws in the action have clean heads with straight slots on the right side of the frame and clean exposed tips on the left side of the frame.  The flat-head screws in the rear sight, grip frame, and triggerguard are also in great shape.  The factory polished sides of the hammer are still bright and clean with no staining or pitting visible, showing only a little scuffing where it makes contact with the frame when fired.  The bore in this Blackhawk is superb and mirror-bright.  The rifling still shows well-defined and sharp lands and grooves, and there is zero visible erosion, pitting, or imperfections of any kind.  The 6 chambers of the cylinder are equally as pristine and free from damage.  The smooth American Walnut factory grips on this Ruger are in great shape overall, free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or major dings/damage.  Both grips are a perfect match to each other in every way and are perfectly fit to the gun with no wiggle.  The only visible sign of age/wear outside of a couple of tiny little handling marks in the wood is the loss of some of the black paint on the silver and black Ruger medallions on either grip.  This could easily be repaired with some black paint to match and a steady hand.  The action on this Ruger is extremely slick and smooth, as only these hand-tuned vintage Blackhawks are.  It is in perfect time no matter how fast or slow you work the action and the cylinder locks up just as well today as when it was new.  All three hammer positions are still intact and solid, the safety notch, half-cock, and full-cock.  You can feel all of the clicks thru the hammer as the action is worked and hear them clearly as well.  As mentioned before, it has never been back to the factory to have the transfer-bar modification installed, it is exactly as it left the factory in 1967.  The trigger is excellent as well, breaking like a thin glass rod with just light pressure and no excessive travel.  All of the controls on this Old Model Blackhawk are in perfect working order, including the adjustable rear sight.  There is no doubt that this Ruger will still function just as well today as the day it left the factory over 54 years ago!  If you have been looking for a high-condition collector-grade 3-screw Old Model Ruger Blackhawk to add to your collection that is good enough to appreciate in value but not so perfect that you would feel terrible shooting it, this is it!
