Description:
SOLD

Springfield Armory M1 Garand. Serial number 3878580, dates to late 1945. The receiver markings indicate a 1965 rebuild at Letterkenny Army Depot. Barrel is Springfield dated June 1965 with a perfect bore. No import marks. The Garand has a new commercial walnut stock. This rifle is in excellent+ used condition, and does not appear to have been used after the rebuild. See detailed part descriptions below.
 
Two M1 enbloc clips (no ammo) and a repro sling are included. Rifle will ship in a foam lined hard case.

SPECS:


·Receiver: Springfield Armory, marked “D 28291 35” on leg, heat lot B42B, also hand engraved “LEAD 10-65” on leg, indicating Letterkenny rebuild. Excellent condition, new parkerized finish.
·Barrel: Springfield Armory, marked “D6535448 6 65 BU19” in op rod slot, with “P”, “M”, and small stars and eagle. Bore is bright like new (it is), external finish perfect other than indication of a few op rod cycles. Barrel measures 1 at muzzle, 2 at throat.
·Clip latch: WWII square front type, unmarked
·Op rod: Springfield Armory, flat side, marked “D35382 SA”. Excellent condition, no pitting, finish shows very little wear.
·Op rod catch: late type, unmarked
·Bullet guide: stamped with notch
·Follower: late type, unmarked
·Follower arm: no bevel
·Follower rod: long fork, riveted
·Bolt: Springfield Armory, marked “6528287-SA A-10”
·Sight knobs: T-105 postwar type, elevation marked “NHC”, windage marked “DRC”
·Rear sight cover: late type with ribs
·Rear sight aperture: double track, unmarked
·Trigger housing:  Springfield Armory, marked “D28290-8-SA”, no pitting.
·Trigger guard: milled SA, marked “O” inside
·Trigger: late type, no extra hole

·Hammer spring plunger: late type without wings
·Safety: round top, marked “SA-11”
·Gas cylinder: wide sight platform, flat on top of rear ring, unmarked
·Front sight: 0.63 wide, unmarked.
·Gas cylinder lock: beveled front type, unmarked
·Gas cylinder screw: cross slot poppet valve type, marked “NHC IHC”
·Stock and handguards: walnut, commercial reproduction, very nice finish.
