This is a Parker Bros. PHE 16GA (not 20ga as listed in heading)
SN 201,996 (1923). Gun presents quite well as a surviving piece with history during WWII. At first we thought the reflected Parker was possibly restored long ago, however, we determined the shotgun may be a nice original. The features on this specific Parker reflects a lightly used presentation gun to the Walter Wolfkiel Bacon, Governor of Delaware (1941 - 49). The gold shield engraved with Gov.Bacon name.
This gun has been kept safely for many years in a private collection and only recently came to our attention and the opportunity to bring to market.
This PHE shows as 90% with very few handling marks. The barrels are very nice as no dings, rust or frosting with very little thinning at muzzle end. The walnut stock has lots of figure typical on higher grade Parkers and checkering is quite clean and sharp. Note Case hardened vivid colors.
Few presentation guns come to market, as this Parker from a prominent political person or family. We are excited to offer this nice piece for sale and fortunate it reflects a small history with provenance, and to be offered to you for purchase.
