Description:
This is a special order Savage rifle in exceptional condition for it's age. 303 cartridge, made in 1906, 20" barrel, crescent butt, high grade wood with flame checkering. Lots of case lever both inside and out on the lever, has a vintage fold down peep sight with original Rocky Mountain rear sight. Front sight is ivory bead marked Lyman's Pat. Oct 6, 85. Rifle has fine checkered cheeks and top strap, pass through lever safety, barrel address is pp125 David Royals book figure A-3, 1904-1911, flat crown on barrel, all numbers matching ser. #53,xxx, no apparent buttstock cracks but a small chip showing from under the rear sight, no chipped toe, no drilled holes metal or wood, does have some forearm damage from drifting the rear sight ? and some normal handling wear. I can include another unfinished but original Savage manufactured forearm with the same flame checkering if desired. Bluing is the bright blue finishwith high edge wear, no receiver bottom wear, and a rub mark on top of the bridge. Barrel blue is about perfect. The breech bolt is shiny with very little off coloring. Thhe bore looks new.
It's hard to believe a firearm 115 years old can show so little use or wear. This beautiful special order Savage was stuck away for decades somewhere. Please ask questions before purchasing, neither of us like surprises. This rifle will be well packaged to ship and will run $75.
