Description:
Listing a little Savage 1899 .303 takedown with a light weight 20" barrel, her serial number being 161918 dates her to around 1914. Carbine has not  been messed with as far a refinishing or blueing, looks to be original. Has a small old crack back of receiver like so many do.I think they mostly happened because someone over tighten's the long bolt that holds them  together and when they maybe dry out they crack . Some you see have been repaired, this one not. She cycles ammo and shoots fine. Shot it a couple weeks back and a nice 3" group at 80 yards. Ammo is not hard or expensive at local gun shows , big sport stores they've probably never heard of a .303.The cartridge has been around for a long time, the 300 spun off of this and later the 308 , so I've been told. Would make a fine deer rifle or round out a collection. I'm selling it because I've just to many . I'll ask $800. and ship it any where in the lower 48 to a FFL or if you've a C&R. for another $40.00 if you buy it I'd accept a money order or cashiers check. I'm not a dealer just a collector that's wanting to thin the herd. Oh yes , the numbers all match . any questions please call or text 920-590-3400
have a fine day
