Description:
This Colt was one of the first one's to be produced in early 1942. The pistol's serial number is 758204. It comes with the original Colt shipping box. This box is serial numbered to this pistol. This Colt has the correctly marked barrel in very fine condition. The bore shines bright! The slide is also serial numbered to this pistol behind the firing pin retaining plate. This pistol shows some light service wear and use. The original finish is intact with some high point wear. There is some oil staining in some areas of the finish. The finish would rate a 97% overall condition The barrel blue would also rate about the same. It has the correct commercial magazine that has been fully blued for war time service. This magazine shows wear and usage but is in very good condition. The original grips have the reinforced screw base. These grips are in very fine condition with no damage or visable wear. The box has the correct top lettering as done at Colt's. The serial number is hand written on the box top. The two spare magazines are missing from this box. The box is in strong condition with only one top corner loose. To have the original Colt box serial numbered to the pistol is a rare find! This is especially true of the early issued Colt pistols!
